Perseus Jackson
Name: Perseus 'Percy' Jackson
Age: 18
Species: Demigod
Rank: Leader of the Poseidon Cabin, Hero of Olympus
Appearance:
Play-By: Logan Lerman
Personality: If you ignore the fact that he is a demigod, Percy will come across as any other teenage boy. The best way to describe him would be good natured and he always seems to be ready to make friends. Percy also has a habit of being drawn to under dogs, he cannot help but protect them and he can't stand to see them being bullied or oppressed. The best examples of these was when he befriended and protected both Grover and Tyson from bullies in their respective mortal schools. Like the majority of teenage boys, Percy is rather awkward in matters of the heart. He doesn't quite understand girls but thinks that he's making a little bit of progress on this since dating Annabeth Chase.
Family:
- Father: Poseidon (Claimed)
- Mother: Sally Jackson
- Step-father: Paul Blofis
- Half brothers to name a few: Tyson (Cyclops) Polyphemus and Antaeus (he dislikes these other two)
History: Before coming to Camp Half Blood, both Percy's home life and school life were rather unstable. At home he had a rocky relationship with his step father, Gabe Ugliano. Percy hated the man and the feeling was mutual. Gabe would often force Percy to give him money to feed his gambling habit and threaten to beat him up if he didn't. On the other hand, his school life was also a big mess. Aside from being diagnosed with ADHD and dyslexia, Percy had a bad habit of getting into major trouble at school. The kind of trouble that got you expelled. He could never stay at the same school for two years in a row.
It was at Yancy Academy that he met and befriended Grover underwood. Percy had no idea that his best friend was a satyr in disguised who had been sent to protect him. Instead, it was Percy who did all the protecting, standing up for Grover when he was bullied by the likes of Nancy Bobofit. He also had no idea that his entire life was about to change with a single field trip to the museum. To cut a long story short, Percy's math teacher turned out to be a fury and she nearly killed him. After that Percy's life was turned on it's head. He discovered that he was a half blood and was claimed by the Sea God Poseidon during a game of capture the flag. But these two stunning revelations did not bring any peace to Percy's life, instead they only brought on more trouble.
Year after year it was one wild quest after another and Percy visited places like the Underworld, the Sea of Monsters and the Labyrinth among other things. He nearly lost his life more times then he can count but as they say, with the bad comes the good as well. Percy found new friends in the likes of Tyson, Rachel Dare, Thalia daughter of Zeus and even Nico di Angelo son of Hades. He was able to forge a strong bond with Poseidon and also with Annabeth.
Percy's greatest test came during the summer of his sixteenth birthday. He had always known that there was a prophecy involving him and the fate of Olympus but had always been kept in the dark from it. Learning the entire prophecy lead to him taking a dip in the River Styx though as it turned out, Percy wasn't the hero of the prophecy after all. It was the choice that was his and in the end he made the right one. Now two years after the great battle, he hopes for some peace and quiet though a part of him knows that there's probably more dangerous adventures that lie ahead.
Anything Else? Percy is hopeless when it comes to archery. He fights better with a sword and has a magical one named Anaklusmos, meaning Riptide in English. Made of celestial bronze, Riptide turns into a pen when not in use and is able to return to Percy's pocket no matter where he looses it. Being a son of Poseidon, Percy also has control over the water. He can manipulate it to his will, is able to breath underwater and can withstand more undersea pressure then the average human. Being in water infuses him with extra energy and he is able to heal injuries with direct contact with water.
Having taken a dip in the Styx, Percy is invulnerable. However it does have it's downsides. He tends to overtax himself and must now take many naps during the day to prevent this from happening. Also the knowledge that he is invulnerable will lead to a very large ego and Percy is in danger of letting his pride get in the way of his better judgment. He also has to keep his Achilles spot a secret and only Annabeth knows where it is.
Percy's fatal flaw is that he can be too compassionate and too forgiving. It has been said that he will sacrifice his own life to save anyone...be it friends, strangers or even enemies. He doesn't like it when Blackjack calls him boss and seems to dislike being known by other titles as well. To Percy, he's just...Percy.
